Gladys G.  Quitadamo
SHREWSBURY-Gladys G. (Gallati) Quitadamo, 77, of Shrewsbury, died at home on Saturday, April 17, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.



She leaves her husband of 57 years, Arthur M. Quitadamo; her four children, Donna M. Felice and her husband William of Grafton, Mary V. Riani and her husband Roger of Millbury, Arthur “A.J.” Quitadamo and his wife Deborah of Medfield, and James P. Quitadamo of Shrewsbury. She also leaves her very special twin sister Dolores Mazzone and her husband Michael “Mickey” of Millbury; her brother, Joseph Gallati and his wife Helen of Worcester,and her sister, Yolanda “Ella” DiMonopoli of Worcester and eight grandchildren, Susan Jarquin and her husband Alberto, Amy Salsman and her husband Kenneth, Ellyse Quitadamo, Robert Quitadamo, Rachel Riani, Sarah Quitadamo, Nicholas Quitadamo and John “Jack” Quitadamo; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert F. Quitadamo in 1977, and by six of her siblings, Bruno, Samuel, Bruno “Frank” Gallati, Rose Zecco, Antoinette DiPierro and Rita Langone.



Gladys was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Antonio and Frances (Buffone) Gallati. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Girls Trade School, Worcester and was a homemaker all of her life, raising her five children as well as being a devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren. Gladys was a member of Saint Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury where she was an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist and a member of its Women’s Guild. Gladys loved spending time together with her family, especially on Cape Cod, was a wonderful cook and enjoyed walking, especially with her husband Arthur.



The family would like to thank all the dedicated nurses, doctors and homecare assistants that have lovingly cared for Gladys during her illness.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday April 22nd from 5-8 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Friday, April 23rd from the funeral home with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 Noon in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
