As a young English teacher I joined a Decennial Visiting Committee in R.I. and Paul was our chair. It may have been his first as a chair. I tried hard to model his friendly, supportive, intelligent manner in all of my work with the NEAS&C and as a teacher and administrator over the next decades. I am very thankful that I had Paul as a mentor and friend. I hope that Paul’s family can take solace in the knowledge that Paul’s influence lives on in our minds and hearts.
