Rita L.  Bouthillier (Brodeur)
NORTHBOROUGH- Rita L. (Brodeur) Bouthillier, 96, of Shrewsbury died Wednesday February 10, 2016 in Notre Dame Long Term Care in Worcester after an illness surrounded by her loving family.

Rita was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late Wilfred and Bertha (David) Brodeur. She graduated from Commerce High School. She met and married the love of her life, Leo D. Bouthillier in 1944.

Rita had been a homemaker most of her life until she returned to the workforce as a Medical Assistant and had worked for an OB-GYN office in Worcester. She also spent a few years working as a Realtor in Longmeadow, Mass. where she and her husband were members of Longmeadow Country Club. In her spare time Rita enjoyed many things, such as gardening, cooking, bowling, reading, playing bridge with her friends. She also enjoyed traveling, especially taking many vacations to Cape Cod and Maine; she studied music and voice, she was a member of the choir at St. Joseph’s Church in Worcester and St. Mary’s in Shrewsbury. She listened to classical music most of her life and was a volunteer at Assumption College for several years.

Her husband, Leo D. Bouthillier died in 2007. She leaves a daughter, Suzanne L. Zarcaro and her husband, Joseph of Northborough; two grandchildren, Christopher McCarthy and his fiancée, Toni Oldfield of San Pedro Ca. and Jamie L. Zarcaro of Northborough; a sister, Doris Kalil of Shrewsbury; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Notre Dame Health Care Center and Notre Dame Hospice for their compassionate and loving care to Rita.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Rita’s family on Monday, February 15, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 AM in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. A funeral Mass celebrating her life will follow at 11 AM at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Memorial contribution can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472 or to the Patients Activity Fund at Notre Dame Long Term Care, 555 Plantation St, Worcester, MA 01605.
