Obituary for John H. Eastwood Jr.

John H.  Eastwood Jr.
John H. Eastwood, 84, of Brookfield, former longtime Auburn resident, died Saturday in the Life Care Center of Auburn after a period of declining health.
John is survived by his wife Helen (Black) Eastwood, and four daughters; Linda Tomaszewicz and her husband Paul of Acworth, GA, Karon Martunas and her husband Michael of Cherry Valley, MA, Deborah Johnston and her husband James of Spencer, MA, Sharon Fanion and her husband Arthur of Spencer, MA, 10 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son John S. Eastwood.
He is a graduate of Punchard High School in Andover and Fisher College in Boston.
John spent forty plus years in the restaurant business on the Massachusetts Turnpike with Howard Johnson’s in management, and ending his career as Director of Turnpike Operations with Marriott Corp. where he received may awards and recognition for his outstanding performance.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to the Heritage Country Club. He also loved skiing which he did well into his 70’s. He took many trips to Vail, CO, and Steamboat Utah with his son John.
John and his wife Helen wintered part of the year in Dunedin FL where they loved walking the beaches and would often take in a Red Sox game.
John and Helen loved attending their grandchildren’s school and athletic activities.
Relatives and friends are invited to remember and celebrate John’s life at a funeral Mass held at 10 AM Saturday February 15th in St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
There are no calling hours.
