I knew her as "Slim." Her dad called her that, and I, as her first boyfriend, I used it too. We started out as buddies in the 4th grade, and grew to love each other as we passed through puberty together ... It was a difficult time, she described herself was always "cranky". We shared our first kiss in the 7th ... We were together until she passed me on to one of her field hockey teammates in the 10th grade. Slim truly was a renaissance woman. She could pitch a softball faster than most boys could pitch a baseball. I started to teach her Taekwondo and her punch was devastating. Yet she practices modern dance, and ballet. I travelled with her family to watch her perform in Philadelphia ... she was wonderful. Slim, there will always be a huge place in my heart for you ... I hope you can hear me All my love Lloyd

None of my other teachers believed in me quite like DiPa did. She was truly an extraordinary woman, and I feel privileged to have known her. She was my homeroom teacher for four years, and my math teacher for two. I would have never gone to college without her influence in my life, and her constant encouragements when I felt like a failure. She will be sorely missed. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She made an incredible impact on her students, and that is something that I will never forget.

I was so saddened to read this. Mrs. D was one of my favorite teachers at AHS. I had the joy of having her as my teacher twice through high school. She had the innate ability to get the best out of you. She wrote a letter of recommendation for me for college and it was one of the nicest letters I've ever read. She was such a wonderful person and it's a travesty that she was taken too young.

I was Shirley's roommate for a year when I attended Framingham State College. We didn't keep in touch after college, but I remember her well. She was such a nice person, and I am happy to have known her. I read about her passing in the Telegram today. Please accept my condolences.

Mrs. D was such a treasure for AHS. I have many fond memories of her patient and kind smile while helping me no matter how many questions I had and what a great sense of humor she had! She was such a warm person and enjoyed us as people, not just as students. So so many lives she has touched.

I was in one of the first classes Mrs. Dipasquale taught in Auburn. I was not the greatest student, but with her great sense of humor, enthusiasm, and high expectations, I worked hard in her class to do well. When I look back at teachers that had an impact on my life, she ranks right up there. Not just for mastery of mathematics. But also for creating a positive environment while pushing high expectations for excellence. She had a positive impact on many lives and leaves a legacy that anyone would be proud.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. DiPasquale. While I never had her as a teacher, I encountered her under some of her other "Many hats" through track and other school events. I can remember her laugh and from her picture I can see her smile was ever prominent. She was a great attribute to the Auburn school community and many will remember her fondly. To Shirley's family, I was so saddened to hear of your mom's passing. I always looked forward to summer, which is when I would be able to play golf with her on Mondays and Fridays. She was so much fun to be around and to chat with. My girls "just missed" having her as a high school math teacher, and I was so sad that they wouldn't be able to experience Mrs. DiPasquale. Whenever I had questions about the math at the high school, she always had great advice. She will be missed terribly. May she rest in peace.
