For some reason I logged on today to see about news from my home town, Auburn MA. I have not done this for over 20 years, but something pushed me today and now I know why. Ray Odgren was Scoutmaster of Troop 102 during my time in the Boy Scouts, and he helped me reach Eagle. The times that we spent as a troop, with Mr. Odgren as our leader, have had a clear and positive impact on my life. He served as a role model for me, and I have always had a big place in my heart for this great man. My condolences to the Odgren family. -David Negus

Dear Priscilla and family, We are so sorry to hear about Ray's passing and for your loss. Ray always greeted us with a smile and a hug every time we saw him at Bethel. Pricilla and family, please know how sorry I am for your loss, which is great. Ray was such a special person to have known my entire life growing up in Auburn but especially Bethel. Dear Priscilla and family. It's so sad to realize that Ray will no longer be sharing celebrations of our wonderful grand kids--the christenings, birthdays, graduations, and a wedding. A warm welcome and smile is what I will always remember about Ray. Quiet, reserved and caring is what Ray was about. Everytime I would see him he would ask and care about what I was doing and how the family was doing. He was like a Grandfather to my kids! Whenever I thought about Bethel I immediately thought of Ray. My heart goes out to Priscila and the entire Odgren family.

Dear Priscilla and family, I am so grateful for having had Ray (and all of you) in my life. He was a sweet, gentle, faithful, loving soul. I could count on a hug and an "I love you sweetie" every time I saw him. He was like a 'dad' to fill the void when my dad passed. He was a good, fun-loving friend who could tease and pull a prank just as easily as he could give that much needed hug. I am thankful I got to visit with him over this past year and we had the chance to chat and play a game or 2 of cribbage. Many times entering church on a Sunday morning, little would Ray know that I was in need of a hug...or did he...none the less, there Ray was with out reached arms and I would almost fall into his unknown shelter of love.
