Mr. Lemire lived down Rockland Road from my home on Oakwood Avenue in Auburn. He was my Chemistry teacher his first year at Auburn High School, when I was a Junior. He was a wonderful teacher. If "Woopie Tech" had allowed females students, I'd have gone there and majored in chemistry. Mr. Lemire was a great teacher - and a great friend to his students. How dare he be done!!

Paul, Pat, Charlotte and families I am so sorry to hear about your Dads passing. I have so many fond and funny memories, of the many years spent with your family. I am blessed having been lucky enough to have shared lots of special moments with everyone.He was a great Dad, understanding no matter what happened. Though our hearts are heavy and we are saddened by Fr. Paul's passing I know that we will all find solace knowing that he truly was a kind and gentle man. He was always there for "Us" when we were at our lowest and helped us heal in so many ways. May God Bless.

His voice alone commanded your attention and the sermons, to the point, challenged your everyday lives! Selfishly, we will miss his presence up on the altar. It was an honor and privilege to have Fr. Lemire as our Chemistry teacher at Auburn High School back in 1980-81. He was always patient and kind toward each one of us. It was no surprise that he became a priest shortly after his wife passed away. His ministry had started when he became a teacher. My heart goes out to his family. Peace be with all of you. P.S. Favorite memory... Mike C. picking up Fr. Lemire and wrestling him into the school elevator...we missed about 10min of class but gained a memory and love for Fr. Lemire that would last a lifetime! Thank you Fr. Lemire for putting up with us!

Fr. Lemire had a deep impact on the lives of so many teenagers even before he became a priest. I was one of those students, I adored him as a teacher but more than that, he led me closer to Christ and encouraged me to attend my first TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) retreat during High School. It had a profound impact on my relationship with Jesus. I will be forever grateful to him for that. Years later, he married my husband and I (which was special as he had taught us both at Auburn High). Although we have moved away, not a Christmas has gone by that we have not sent him a Christmas card with an update on the family and most years a new picture of our children (who are now young adults!). Although he will be greatly missed, I am sure he is "over the moon" to be reunited with "his Mary" and his Lord. He will live on in the hearts and memories of all of us whose lives he touched. Thank you, Fr. Lemire for all you did for us - thank you to his family for sharing him with us! He was truly a special man.

I had the privilege of getting to know and love Fr. Paul at St. Joseph's in Auburn. At the time, I was the organist/music director and had frequent dealings with Fr. Paul. I often would fetch him coffee between Masses on a Sunday morning. I always enjoyed and remembered his sermons - stright to the point and to the heart. You will be missed, Fr. Paul. God speed you to His loving arms! My condolences to the entire Lemire family - of whom he was so proud.

I had the pleasure of having Mr.(now Reverend) Lemire as a chemistry teacher for two years in a row. For someone like me who didn't even like science, let alone chemistry, he had a way of making the class very enjoyable. From his "Bumble of the Week" to his "Cultural Happenings",aka "holiday parties", he always made us laugh, and was an amazing teacher I will never forget.

My heart goes out to Fr. Paul's family. Like hundreds of others, Mr. Lemire was my beloved Chemistry/Advanced Chemistry/ homeroom teacher at AHS. He was the only person who got away with calling me "Patty". He said Mass at Nichols College where I worked and where we re-connected again. He graciously said a memorial mass for my late husband during one of those masses. I truly believe he left this world a better place for being in it. You will be greatly missed.

I attended Auburn High School and had the pleasure of having Father Lemire as my Chemistry and AP Chemistry teacher for two years in a row!! We called him "The King," as he seemed "all knowing," in terms of chemistry! And oh what a great teacher he was; fun, fair, and full of life! Then, my family and I had the additional pleasure of having Father Lemire as our beloved priest at St. Joseph's Church in Auburn, where his homilies were always so appropriate and so down-to-earth, always so helpful and hopeful and thought-provoking. Father Lemire said the funeral masses of both of my parents and my brother, Jimmy. He was a wonderful priest, not only because of his strong faith and his humble and caring character, but also because he had been a husband and a father. He was able to relate first-hand to the struggles of the layman, which made him empathetic and seemingly "all knowing," again!! He was a wonderful human being, and I know his children will miss him very much. But I'm sure they will also take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace with the Lord and with their mother and brother Paul. God bless Father Lemire and his family! He will live on in your hearts and in the hearts of so many of us who had the pleasure of knowing him! And, yes, as he would always say at his funeral masses, "Keep telling his stories; that's how you will honor him and keep his memory alive!" Father Paul married me and was a close family member at the time. He was so down to earth. So unique. So laid back. I am honored to have such memories... I had the distinct pleasure of working with Fr. Paul for many years when he was Senior Priest at St. Joseph's Church. He was a a truly wonderful human being. He had the ability to relate to people and their unique situations in a way that other priests could not. He made people comfortable at at ease. To his family whom he adored: Fr, Paul was one of a kind. He and his work made a real difference to me, and the good people of Auburn, we were all blessed to have known him. If I were to guess, Ill bet that he and Red are taking a long ride together catching up on old times... In his homilies at funerals he would often say: "In the telling and re-telling of the stories of a persons life is to keep their memory shining brightly." Shine On Padre. God Bless.
