Obituary for Robert F. Beaudet

Robert F.  Beaudet
Robert F. Beaudet, 84, of Auburn died peacefully on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Rita F. (O’Neil) Beaudet with whom he shared sixty wonderful years of marriage. Robert was born in Worcester, the son of the late Arthur J. and Blanche (Harbour) Beaudet. He was raised and educated in Worcester. He was a 1952 graduate of Saint Peter’s High School and a 1955 graduate of Leicester Junior College, where he was the co-captain of both the baseball and basketball teams.

Robert was a proud disabled U.S. Navy Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict Era. Robert would meet his wife in 1955 at Hampton Beach, and then married Rita in 1958, shortly thereafter they moved to Auburn. It was there that they raised their family and lived throughout his life.

Robert dedicated his career to the United States Postal Service in Worcester, where he served faithfully for thirty-four years. Bob coached basketball for 20 years at Holy Name Central Catholic High School, where he was an assistant coach of numerous highly successful teams, including a Central Massachusetts District Champion in 1981 and a Massachusetts State Champion in 1973. He also served as the coach of the Golf and Football teams at Holy Name, where he was a part of the staff of the inaugural team.

One of Bob’s favorite things to do in life, was to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s school activities, dance recitals, and hundreds of sporting events.

In addition to his wife Rita, he is survived by his children, Robert A. Beaudet of Cape Cod, Michael K. Beaudet and his companion Jennifer Kelley of Auburn. Stephen R. Beaudet of Bay St. Louis, MS, Mary-Beth Juneau and her husband David of Auburn, Cathleen A. Beaudet and Matthew J. Beaudet, also both of Auburn; grandchildren Amanda Beaudet, Casey Beaudet, Stephen Beaudet, Joseph Beaudet, Winnie Beaudet, Elizabeth Juneau, Allison Shaw and her Husband Brennen, Evan Beaudet, and Jay Beaudet; siblings Ronald Beaudet and his wife Nancy of Dennis, Joan Archambault of West Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandchildren Maggie Beaudet and Jack Beaudet.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Friday at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn, MA 01501.
