Obituary for Catherine A "Kitty" Buckley

Catherine A. “Kitty” (Duckert) Buckley, 84, of Auburn died peacefully on Thursday, November 1, 2018 surrounded by her family at UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

Born, raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York, Kitty was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Gibbs) Duckert. In 1984, she moved to Massachusetts and settled to raise her daughters.

Kitty truly embraced the opportunity to be able to stay at home to raise and provide for her family. In her spare time, she loved to read, crochet, play cards and from time to time she was found scratching a lottery ticket with great ideas for when she would win. More than any of these things, Kitty enjoyed spending time with her girls and her cats.

Kitty is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Buckley of Lawrence, Kansas, Hollybeth Bingham and her husband Clark of Topeka, Kansas, Victoria Buckley of Auburn, Lydia Buckley and her husband Jack Johnson of Auburn, MA, grandchildren Alexander Buckley-Bingham, Anthony Johnson, siblings, Ruth Duckert, Mary Lou Duckert and Walter Duckert.

Kitty’s family will honor her wishes by holding services in private with the assistance of the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn.
In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to People for Animals League by visiting www.people4animals.org.
