Obituary for Joshua Eugene Elie

Joshua Eugene  Elie
Joshua E. Elie, age 37, of Auburn passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Lorraine D. (Lafond) Elie.

Born in Worcester, Joshua was raised and educated in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School class of 1998. Soon after graduating, he began to work in construction and through most of his life worked in roofing for several local roofing companies.

Joshua truly enjoyed watching all New England Sports teams, however, the Patriots always were his first love. He also found great pleasure listening to music of all genre’s, and was a DJ at times in his life. He was fascinated with movies, always wanted to be the first to see new movies and had a collection that was special to him. He will miss his Chinese food for sure, especially ribs and Mai Tai’s. He loved his family and playing with his nieces and nephews and will be deeply missed by all.

Survived by his siblings, Charlene B. Elie of Auburn, with whom he resided, Karen M. Gosselin of Millbury, Edward E. Elie, Jr. and his wife Margaret of Auburn, Denise Keyes of Auburn, Celeste Bonica and her husband Stephen of Millbury, Abel Shaw and his wife Allison of Waukee, IA, Jason Shaw and his wife Julia of Arnold, MO, and Adam Shaw of Burke, VA. Joshua joins his brother, the late Jamie Elie. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, July 23 in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, July 24 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Britton-Wallace Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joshua’s memory to the Spectrum House, 155 Oak Street, Westborough, MA, 01581 or to a charity of one’s choice.
