Henry A. "Hank"  Gancarz
Henry A. “Hank” Gancarz, 89, of Auburn, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018.

He was born and raised in Worcester, the son of the late Adam M. Gancarz and Louise A. (Burdzel) Gancarz.

Henry graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He had worked as a linotype operator for the Colonial Press and then the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for many years. When not working, he helped out with Boy Scouts adventures and later coordinated some Easter Seals activities. Henry loved being outdoors fishing or hunting. Besides being a dog-lover, his other favorite interest was traditional Polish Music that he would play on Saturday mornings. Later in his life, he became an avid reader of books and continued to be in the sunshine at his favorite beach spots in RI.

His wife of 55 years, Carolyn E. (Love) Gancarz died in 2010. He leaves his children, Patricia L. Boyden and her husband, Lloyd, of North Stonington, CT; Norman M. Gancarz and his wife, Chris, of Dudley, MA; Audrey L. Reilly and her husband, Tom, of Auburn, MA; Barbara J. Porra of New Hampshire and Heidi E. Soderberg of Gilbert, Arizona. He also is survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three siblings and several nieces & nephews.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately at a later date.
