Condolence: It's been two years, Bertie. God I miss you. I miss the regularity of our schedule, and talking at about the same time almost every evening. I miss hearing about your travel adventures and joining vicariously through your photos. I miss hearing the love and pleasure in your voice when you talked about the real things like your famous onion dish, Mason dumping used cat liter on Theodore, and your pride in raising such a fine son. I'm glad that we had time to say most of what we needed. I know you visit me. I wait for male cardinals, the only creatures with fuzzier, redder hair than yours. I remain very quiet so they stay for a long time.
