Obituary for Theresa M. Lemay (Laprise)
AUBURN/HARWICH- Theresa M. (Laprise) Lemay, 90, of Harwich formerly of Auburn died Thursday, December 10, 2015 in Pleasant Bay Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brewster after an illness.
Theresa was born in Shrewsbury, daughter of the late Clifford and Anna (Malhoit) Laprise.
Theresa was well known as the hostess at the New Yorker Restaurant on Route 20 in Auburn and was employed by Commerce Bank in Worcester. She enjoyed crafts, particularly ceramics, crocheting, and knitting. She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.
Her husband, Edward F. Lemay, Sr., died in 1968. She leaves behind, a daughter, Carol Genatossio and her husband, Larry of Harwich; Edward F. Lemay, Jr. of Worcester and Joseph Laprise of Cohasset; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janet (Lemay) Pellegrino in 2003, and her longtime companion Emery Demers in 2008.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Theresa’s family on Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 8:30-10:30AM in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. A prayer service honoring Theresa’s life will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to VNA of Cape Cod Hospice, 434 Route 134, Suite G1, South Dennis, MA 02660.
