AUBURN- Emerise M. (Arsenault) Vautour, 74, of Auburn, died Friday, September 18, 2015 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence with her family by her side.

She was born in Saint Charles, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Richard and Emma (Richard) Arsenault. Her husband and best friend of 49 years, Arcade J. Vautour died in 2011.

Emerise leaves her daughter, May M. Harter and her husband, Stephen and her precious grandchildren, Joshua and Emma Harter all of Woodbury, CT; her son, Leo Paul Vautour and his wife, Jane Vautour of Auburn, MA. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Vautour, who died as an infant.

Emerise came from a very large family of fifteen and is survived by seven siblings, Andrea Daigle, Donalda Vautour, Alvin Arsenault, Alice Vautour, Alphee Arsenault, Dollard Arsenault, Ronald Arsenault and was predeceased by seven siblings Bermand Arsenault, May Gray,
Leo Arsenault, Juliette Arsenault, Eugere Arsenault, Cecile Gallant, and Elmonde Kelly all of Canada. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Emerise was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She loved spending time with her family both here and in Canada. She was so special and a friend to so many. Emerise would light up the room with her smile and her sense of humor. She loved to dance, listen to music and tell stories. Emerise was always up for an adventure. She enjoyed going to flea markets and yard sales. She was a fan of the Red Sox, Bruins, and the New England Patriots. Emerise looked forward to playing bingo with her friends at the Auburn Elks Lodge. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, memere, and friend and will be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5-8 Pm in the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central Street, Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2015 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
