Peter A. "Pete"  Murphy
WESTBOROUGH- Peter A. “Pete” Murphy, 66, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 2, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Coom, Co. Kerry, Ireland, son of the late Peter and Johanna (O’Donoghue) Murphy. Peter came to America in 1969. He worked for many years at the Worcester State Hospital retiring several years back. Pete kept himself busy with partime jobs; most recently at Walmart in Westborough. He also enjoyed spending time with neighbors and friends barbecuing , fishing, and tending to his garden.

Pete leaves behind three sisters, Eileen Flynn and her husband, Patrick of Auburn, Mary Bradley and her husband, John of Toronto, Canada and Johanna Moynihan of Co, Kerry, Ireland; two brothers, James Murphy and his wife, Joan of New York and Dennis Murphy of Co. Kerry, Ireland; seven nephews, four nieces and many friends. Peter was predeceased by his brother-in-law, James Moynihan of Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Peter’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the UMASS Cardiac Team, Dr. Theo Myers and Maggie Cabral, PA., and the entire CCU Unit for all of the exceptional care that was given to Peter.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Peter’s family on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5-7 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn. His funeral will be on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from the funeral home with a funeral Mass at 10 AM in Saint Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford St North, Auburn.
