Francis X.”Fran” Elworthy, 63, of Clinton, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 in Oakdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, after a long courageous battle with Cancer .

He leaves a Loving son, Christopher D. Elworthy and his wife, Melissa of Dunbarton, New Hampshire, his beloved mother, Jeanne Elworthy Siemasko and her husband, Edward of Worcester; four brothers, David Elworthy and his wife, Susan of Centerville MA, Alan Elworthy and his wife, Roseanne of Shrewsbury, Mark Elworthy of Clinton, Kenneth Elworthy and his wife, Heidi of Bolton, two sisters, Debora Dolan and her husband, Michael of Dallas TX, and Diane Demoga and her husband, John of Shrewsbury; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Jack Elworthy and twenty beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest A. Elworthy, Jr.

Fran was raised and lived in Shrewsbury most of his life. He graduated from Saint John’s High School and attended Assumption College in Worcester.

Fran enjoyed golfing, swimming, fishing and watching the New England Sports Teams play.

Fran’s family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the Oakdale Rehab family and Life Choice Hospice for their loving care of Francis during his lengthy illness.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Fran’s family on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 9:00-10:30 in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main St. Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in the family lot at Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
