Stephen J.  Quinn
AUBURN/Boynton Beach, FL-Stephen J. Quinn,84, of Auburn, MA and Boynton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully in FL after a brief illness, on January 26, 2013, surrounded by family.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Judith, a son Peter and his partner Patrick Jones of Auburn, daughter Patricia and her husband David Smolinsky of Shrewsbury, grandsons Zachary and Ryan Smolinsky, sister Chrissie wife of Martin Purtill of Shannon, County Clare, Ireland, and many nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his family in Ireland and England: parents Patrick and Margaret Quinn, brothers Christopher ‘Whack’ and Michael, and sisters Mary Rowlands, Anne Quinn, Bridie Reilly, Margaret O’Flynn, Eileen Ridgeway, and Theresa Ridge.
He was born and raised in Kilkee, County Clare, Ireland; Steve called Central MA home for over 60 years and loved wintering in FL the past 23 years. Steve served in a MASH unit during the Korean War as a member of the US Army followed by a dedicated 33-year career as a Nurse in the mental health field at Worcester State Hospital and many years working at Sears Automotive Center in Auburn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday February 11th from 3-5 pm in the Britton Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, a memorial service will follow at 3pm. Burial in Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton MA, will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in his name to the Auburn Visiting Nurses Association, 191 Pakachoag St. Auburn, MA 01501 or to Auburn Youth and Family Services 21 Pheasant Ct., Auburn, MA 01501
